Mayer Bar Coating Method
What's the mayer bar coating method ?
Mayer bar(also call metering rob, meyer bar) is one of the most popular coating methods. It is a stainless steel rod ,which is coiled with stainless steel wire. An this rod is used to get rid of redundant coating adhesives ,so that control the coating weigh. Furthermore,The wet thickness after doctoring is adjusted by the wire which wind the roll. Rods are available in a wide variety of wire sizes to give a range of coating weights. The dry thickness is determined by the solids rate of the coating adhesives, working speed etc.
Mayer Bar Coating Range for substrate and adhesives
Coating thickness: wet 30μ or less
Viscosity: 1000mPa.S or less
